Absence Calculator (Bradford Factor)

We all have days off sick, it's just inevitable.

Most companies have embraced the notion that frequent short-term periods of absence are more disruptive to a companies operation, than single periods of absence lasting multiple days.

Because of this numerous companies monitor absences using a formulae commonly referred to as the "Bradford Factor."

The formulae works by taking the number of Instances of sickness (I), Instances of sickness (I), times by the total number of days sick (D), (I x I x D = Bradford Factor Score).

By using the simple calculator it is easy for both employers and employees to monitor the impact of an individuals absenteeism.

Please note – Bradford Factor threshold levels vary from employer to employer. These threshold levels are usually detailed in your contract of employment.
